My brother, Jamie, finally got to marry his lifelong best friend, BJ, this weekend. I was Jamie’s best man, and Scott was BJ’s best man. Not an ideal situation for either of us, since Scott and I have been enemies since high school. Somehow we managed to get through the weeks before the wedding without killing each other (barely), but then the bachelor party incident occurred and added fuel to the fire.

Now we argue even more, and the sexual tension between us is unbearable, at least for me. Unfortunately, I have things I like— kinky things— that Scott would never be able to handle, probably because he’s not even gay. Or at least that’s what I always thought, but now I’m not so sure and apparently neither is he…

I am conflicted about this short M/M erotic romance.
On the one hand writing is fluid and there is humour. Besides I have found the sex scenes intriguing even though I have not an underwear fetish; this might depend from the lovers being versatile, always a big turn on for me.
On the other hand Rylan and Scott are a bit too conflicted to be true. It is true that people are in general the first culprits of their own unhappyness but the misunderstandings between the two are kind of extreme.

Lush in Lace edition by AJ Ridges Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Very intense story, full of strong feelings and personal awakening moments. It has elements of enemies-to-lovers and gay-for-you romance, all described from both men's POV with some help from their respective brothers. The writing is smooth and captivating. I recommend this book for an afternoon of mental escape and hot fantasies!
What a wonderful gift this story is from an author who participated in the Goodreads Group promotion event. What a terrific, talented, amazing person it takes to see a picture and short prompt, then create a story this amazing. Rylan and Scott couldn't get along. Even having gone to school, their brothers getting married, all the shared family functions, they could not stand each other. Until Rylan made a bet that Scott couldn't turn down. This story was so funny, the characters were magnificently written, engaging, witty and fun. The best part was they had to work at their relationship. This story was all about how they get their HEA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!! This is a terrific read!!!
I consider this a unique storyline in that I've heard of gay for you, but never "lace for you". It was interesting. I was glad for the POVs alternating between the 2 MCs, as I don' think it would've made as much sense otherwise. What I couldn't quite get into was Rylan's attitude. The description mentions snark, but I just found Rylan mean & often intentionally difficult. And though it's mentioned several times over that Scott is about as smart as Rylan academically, he's still portrayed as a meathead who messes things up by not being able to properly express himself. I also didn't like how their brothers put more blame on things going wrong on Rylan than on Scott. They were equally stubborn. Okay story, though.
I don't know whether I'm past the first flush of discovering the novelty value of reading gay romances. Or not? But such books are now leaving me feeling a bit jaded. So, probably, don't blame the author for my giving this book two stars, but blame that jaded personality of mine.
The characters were were all well-defined, dialogue good, no editorial mistakes that I could see. The basic plot idea - gay bloke liking a straight jock from afar - has been done before, and it's still an okay format. I think I would have liked the story to be a little more in-depth. I didn't find much warmth to it all. As a matter-of-fact, I found the two new grooms were more fun to read about than the two main characters.
I'm a straight woman who loves her gay male friends. We hang out together, enjoying one another's company. Some of the guys in my bunch have been together or married for close to twenty years. Some are single and busy having flings. My best friend's partner died after many years. I love them and I listen to their stories without really knowing what was happening when they got together. Now I know, and damn, that is hot! Thank you for enlightening me.
Lush in Lace was a very different MM read for me and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't too sure if I would like a story were one of the guys has a female underwear fetish, but it wasn't really the main focus of the story and for that I am thankful. I would have taken away too much from the characters and their story.

I loved were the author took this story and I instantly fell in love with the two main characters. They were total opposites of each other, yet for some reason they seem to fit perfectly together. Sometimes they did get a little on my nerves. But overall I was enjoying the story way too much for it to affect me.
It's one of these books that you read and enjoy, but in the end have actually no idea what to say about those 137 pages so that your experience would be adequately described. But I will say this much man panties or manties, especially lacy manties, are a thing I never thought of before.

But what I can say that I really enjoyed, was the fact that Ridges managed to write all 137 pages of it without once saying how the men could feel their nether regions tingling and enlargening by tenfold in a second or less. I like that she kept this part realistic and that she didn't overwhem me with the amount of sex scenes going on. And I especially liked that the first one didn't happen before the halfway mark.
